There’s a collection of “humpbacks” performing onshore at Hervey Bay – Fraser Coast Camel Safaris.
The colourful red and yellow saddle cloths of the line of eight camels make a striking sight as they effortlessly carry their passengers on one hour rides along the waterline of Scarness Beach. Each camel can comfortably carry two adults in their custom-designed saddles and small children can safely sit with a parent. The camel safari, which was previously operating at Cable Beach in Broome, offers rides daily. Cost is $50 for adults and $30 for children aged three to 14 years.
