Tourism Queensland is searching the globe for applicants for the ‘Best Job in the World’ – an AUD$150,000 six-month contract as Island Caretaker of the Great Barrier Reef.
Until February 22, 2009, people from around the world can apply for the position which is based on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. Aside from exploring the hundreds of islands in the Great Barrier Reef, making friends with the locals and generally enjoying the tropical Queensland climate and lifestyle, the successful candidate will have to report back on their adventures to Tourism Queensland and the rest of the world via weekly blogs, a photo diary, video updates and ongoing media interviews.
