The Lighthouse Restaurant was recently named the best Tourism Restaurant in Queensland at the annual Queensland Tourism Awards.
The Lighthouse is a combined restaurant, cafe, bar and take away located at Cleveland Point on the southern end of Brisbane, right on the water’s edge of Moreton Bay. As well as excellent food, diners enjoy spectacular views of the bay and surrounding islands. The Lighthouse has recently been renovated but it has a chequered life as the Pier Hotel back in 1880 and as a kiosk when it was rebuilt after burning down in 1936. It was renamed the Lighthouse in 1986, in homage to the historical hexagonal lighthouse on the property. The Lighthouse will now represent Queensland at the Australian Tourism Awards in February. www.lighthouserestaurant.net.au
